Making Play-Doh

Abang and I just LOVE to play with play-doh and we're always asking babah to buy us new pots at every visit to Bebeland. I think mama's been ingau about spending too much on this so she looked up on how to make our own and that's what we did yesterday! And we are here to teach you...

You need a cup of flour, a cup of salt, a cup of water(not pictured), a tablespoon of vegetable oil (also not pictured), a tablespoon of cream tartar and colourings!

This is our step by step guide:

1. Pour the flour into a bowl (that's me pouring!)

2. Then pour a cup of salt (fine salt)- and that's abang seriously pouring:

3. Put in a tablespoon of tartar cream and stir the mix:

4. Get a cup of water from the tap and pour into the mix:

5. Mix in the vegetable oil and put into a pot and quickly simmer it over low heat until the mix becomes sticky:

6. Once they're cool, roll them up into balls and start to put colouring in them and blend the colours into the balls:

THERE YOU HAVE IT! PLAY DOH! (The blue one is bigger cos we had to use two balls cos abang poured too much blue colouring!)

And then we play with it!

Here I am making spaghetti and cupcakes!

And now whenever they get dry, we just make new ones! Saves time and money to not have to go to Bebeland anymore!

Lil Alisha News

Hi all! It's been a while since my last update huh! Well, I am 2 years and 5 months now and mama's always saying how amazed and a bit sad she is at how fast I'm growing up! I still love to stay and play at home so I have no plans to start school anytime soon even though abang started when he was 2 years 7 months. When mama asks me if I want to go to school, I directly say "no.. I like to stay home". I think for now it's enough for me to visit schools when I send abang off or pick him up. I still don't dare venture out on my own just yet! Maybe we can give it another year ma?

It's not so surprising though if you know what I get up to at home! As always, I'm still loving the playroom we've got and am constantly playing with everything in there. Now, my favourite thing to do is to bake or play anything to do with cakes. I love to cut up the wooden birthday cake that we have and serve it to everyone (and make sure they pretend to eat it!) and lately, I've been bugging mama to make real cake in the kitchen too! She told me that she already bought the ingredients to make a NY Strawberry Cheesecake so hopefully she'll keep her word and we can start making that soon!

I also love love love to play with bubbles at home, especially since usu bought me a giant bottle of gazillion bubbles from her KK visit. I love playing it so much that we've actually finished the whole bottle in just 3 days! I love blowing the bubbles and catching them!

haiya!! too many bubbles to catch laaahhh
Remember how I used to not bother changing into my swimming costume and get myself wet etc etc.. Well I've forced myself to make more effort lately and agreed to change into it during our recent picnic at Angel Beach..

And also during Eljaz's 3rd birthday party last Sunday.. I still wasn't completely happy though as you can see from my face- but the important thing is I TRIED right.. jan krg menyasal!

I also love to sing nursery rhymes and though I sing in tune, sometimes I sound a bit "rocker" ish when I sing! When mama ask me if I'm a rocker, I say "nooo, I'm a tiger!"

I love to sing "where is thumbkin?" especially and I would do all the finger gestures too whilst singing it. That song AND the barney song which I love to sing together with mama..

noooo, i'm a tigerrrrr.. rroooaarr!!!

Where is pointy where is pointy? here i am, here i am

Some other tidbits about me:

  • I love to go through the Gymboree activity book with mama to find things to do - again, who needs school?!

  • I have chosen my fave Hi-Five members! Out of the 5, I like Kelly, Nafan and Tim!

  • I've making the transition to soymilk which we hope will help me with reducing and eventually eliminating my excema dry skin.. though I still like to eat my cereal with normal milk. but we're working on it! I do drink my chocolate soymilk every nite though. Oh and since I didn't update this last time, I stopped drinking formula milk like 4 months ago already!

  • I'm fully potty trained during the day! Yay for me! Though I still run to the toilet like my life depended on it everytime I want to wee-wee!

  • I tend to copy everything abang says. Like yesterday, I liked something mama said and so I told her "Good idea mama!" Belabih kan!

  • The other day I got really worried about mama when she cut her toe and there was blood.. I just sat outside the bathroom and watched her wash he wound and felt compelled to say "mama I miss you.."

  • I know basic colours like red, yellow, orange, blue and green and my faves are purple and pink!

  • I'm constantly carrying around mama's muji tops (which comes in white, beige and black so at least I always have one when another's in the wash) because I like the feel of it to stroke and pinch!

  • I love Disney princesses, especially Cinderella and have discovered Disneyland so I'm gonna tagih from babah and mama to go there one day!

Phew! That was a long one! Till next time, toodles!

Ready for Umrah

After the scarves play, mama, auntie ida and auntie nur had more fun putting the tudungs on us! Look at how ayuu I look..

Yes, you read right.. I said "us" as opposed to "me"! Abang didn't really mind this time (he usually does) because mama coaxed him into thinking that he's the Pink Panther which he loves to watch nowadays!
And then we couldn't leave Addin out can we? Doesn't he look sooo cute in the green scarf (at least he's not wearing it in the style of how a woman wears it!)

Astaghfirullah!!! Okay, to make them feel better (especially when they see this when they're older), I shall post a pic of how my brothers usually look!

But still you gotta agree them wearing the tudungs were kinda funny? hehehe

Flying Colours

Mama and I got this play idea from this book so we dug out some of mama's millions of colourful tudungs and threw them in the air and got these awesome pics out of it! It also helped abang and I with our throwing high up in the air skills and it helped me in identifying colours!

Of course abang can throw so much higher than me! But doesn't the pics look funny? the scarves look like they're gonna hit abang!

now me having a go!

Of course, as usual, whenever Abang and I play together, the fun lasts for about 5 minutes and then this will happen:

WE FIGHT!!!!! Well it was fun while it lasted!

Pweshes Addin at 13 months

Mama just loves taking pics of me!

I am 13 months today and thought I'd just make a quick update about myself:

1. I am seriously really busybody and do not like to be left alone! If I see abang and kakak doing something, I will check up on them and try to gatecrash my way in.. If I see babah or mama doing something with abang or kakak, again, I will definitely walk over and try to ngintu in.. inda mau rugi bah!

2. I'm still babbling away and finally started to make ba, ma, ta sounds and the way I talk has more range and music to it now like as if I'm really speaking even though it's meaningless to others when they hear it!

3. But I understand a lot more what is told to me- I look for all the members of the family when asked and whenever I get asked where's Elmo (who, like Kakak, I really wove too!), I either point to the big Elmo doll on the shelf or I go and get the Elmo's Birthday Party book which is my new favourite book after Zoe's Happy Faces! I sure do love those Sesame Street characters!

4. And when I read the book, I can point to "balloons", "rabbit", "ernie" and "bert" in the book too!

5. I find it sooo hard to sleep at night now as I just can't stop playing. It seems that I'm sleeping the last (after abang and kakak) and mama knows when exactly I'm just going to doze off because my rolling around and my babbles would just be at their peak and all of a sudden, I'd just all asleep!

6. when told to "salam", I know how to walk up to elders now and take their hands and kiss it!

7. I just love pushing everything I see that has wheels! Nenek bini thinks I should start mowing the lawn soon!

8. My balance and coordination is getting really good as I can walk independently whilst carrying quite heavy things at the same time! Besar hawa!

9. I love to play bubbles with my mouth!

10. I'm beginning to fight more with abang and kakak now and am not letting go easily over something like I used to be!

Till next time! Toodles!

Grocery Shopping

I love how Hua Ho Supermarket in Manggis has these mini trolleys for us kids! Usually I'd get kinda bored following mama around and her trolley but now I can do my own shopping at the same time! U wanna know what was in my trolley? I had my packs of orange juice, my favourite fruits bananas and oranges and 2 packs of chocolate milk!

As soon as I saw abang with his trolley, I screamed for my own!! I loved it so much that I didn't wanna let it go even when it was paying time!

Just Can't Get Enough!

I've told you before how much I love to eat right? Well now that I've turned one and my food choices have increased, I am simply having the time of my life!

After cleaning my bowl of chicken cream pasta cleaaannn...

eeehh nyaman eh...

Mama could see how hungry I still was so she made me bread and grilled cheddar cheese too!

BON APPETIT!

Hopscotch!

Look what babah, kaka zaty, alisha and I got up yesterday!! Ain't it totally awesome??!

Ready for School!

After seeing Abang leave home for school every morning, I've started to be dengki and been wanting to do the same!

Ready to go with my backpack!

Hardly looking back.. raring to go!!!

How do you spell "iski" mama?

Antics at Muara Beach!

We haven't been to Muara Beach for a long time so I don't know since when has this great playground been around but we are soooo ecstatic to have discovered it now! Babah and mama should expect us to tagih coming to this like every weekend from now on! It had like almost everything on it and Alisha and I had to be dragged out of there when told to leave!

Sigh I love love love playgrounds! And this one was soo new and ultra colourful! Siuk eh!

We went back to our family picnic spot and I started to pretend I was catching a butterfly with this stick which was supposed to be a butterfuly net. But since there wasn't any butterflies around, I started to chase after and poke Kaka Zaty's butterfly KITE instead! Haha!!

Can you see my upset look when I discovered that abang and kakak left me to go to the playground?? Thankfully they remembered me and came back! I am so inda mau rugi ok- I HAVE to do everything they do, unless I choose not to of course.. hehe..

And speaking of inda mau rugi, I also practically ate and drank everything in sight! I ate a whole bowl of rice and chicken soup made my nenek girl, a whole cup of fresh coconut juice AND this bowl of yam and sweet potato porridge also made by nenek girl! Deelissshhh!!!

Hurry up and scoop me some more!!!!
After having enough to eat, I burnt the calories off with a little ball kicking and chasing.. Everybody was so thrilled to see me walking and kicking away! They got especially excited when I even tried to carry the ball WHILE walking and said how amibitious I am considering how small I am! Pengiski baby that's me!!
THANKS FOR A GREAT SUNDAY BABAH AND MAMA!!!

Family Fun Sunday

We had an early start yesterday as we had an RBAF Family Funday function to attend to in Serasa Beach and we had to be there by 730! Of course that wasn't quite possible with trying to wake the 3 of us up along with getting us ready so the best we got was getting there at 8!

As soon as I arrived I caught my eye on this train so I insisted we go on it so babah and mama had to skip breakfast for us to go on it. You know me! If I want something there and then, it's hard for anyone to say no to me! This cute train was built by soldiers and it's almost 20 years old! Of course the ride was very bumpy and slow but we enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of Serasa Beach and waved to all the other picnickers about!

Look at how happy I was going on the train! I truly am so sakai when being brought anywhere these days that I gotta work on my "cool" look just like abang!

After the train ride, we discovered that they also had pony rides on offer so of course Abang jumped at the chance to ride one! I was only hangat2 tahi ayam to go because as soon as babah paid and about to place me on the pony, I cried! Mama was not surprised since she was scared of ponies when she was younger too!
Family except sleeping Addin with Raiyan on the pony
I was asleep most of the time that morning, well at least tried to as much as possible with the scorching heat and the noisy crowds. Luckily, mama and me could rest and stayed out of the sun in the air conditioned rest house-yay! Though mama and I sadly missed abang and kakak playing all the different games on offer outside, we were quickly comforted with the cold air blowing in our face from the gigantic standing air condition in the room! hehe .. how spoilt are we? We were allowed to leave early since the Guest of Honour left already so after abang and kakak finished playing almost all of the games (including the wet bouncer!) and after a quick snack, we left and moved on to nearby Muara beach cos nenek girl invited us for a family picnic there! The fun never stops! This is me and nenek girl enjoying the sea breeze whilst waiting for babah to park the car.

Babah where are you again? How far did you park??
Auntie Nor and family came so I watched my cousins fly their beautiful kite and it was soo fun! Kakak Zaty and Abang Qawee were especially good with it. Too bad there wasn't much wind so we can fly it all the time!

Will post more of our antics at Muara Beach in the next post!
