Stop the Press!

Babah checked with the ustaz on the appropriateness of baby aden's new name and seems that Aden Taufiq's meaning is not so advisable. Instead, ustaz suggested for "Addin" which when put together with Taufiq, means "petunjuk ugama" (rough translation: religious guide/compass) which is obviously really good and still close to the name Aden.
SO, on this 7th day since our baby brother was born, his name is officially Addin Taufiq Jefri.
Thanks!

Aden's first haircut

before and after

In following the sunnah of our Prophet Mohammad and to ambil berkat hari Jumaat, Babah shaved off all of baby Aden's hair last Friday afternoon..

Like me and Alisha, Aden was born with a full head of hair so along with the nerves of having to put a razor to a 2 day old baby and with how much hair there was, it took babah almost 2 hours to get them all off.. well done babah!

We all think he looks more glowing after the shave and pray that any penyakit or bad thing goes away with the hair. amin.

Introducing our pweshes baby brother Aden Taufiq

Alhamdulillah.. Our Pweshes Little Brother, Aden Taufiq was born last Wednesday, 14th November at 3:21pm weighing in at 3.12 kg...

So far all he does is sleep and feed off mama so we haven't gotten round to showing him the ropes in what we babies do yet.. especially when it comes to writing this blog. he does look like a fast learner though so be sure to look out for an entry by him soon..

Since baby Aden came back home, mama and everyone else has started calling me "kaka".. I think it means big sister or something. watever it is, I have automatically felt more grown up ever since.. I even overheard mama saying how proud she is of me. heyy... i tried to tell you all this time how matured I am beyond my years...

Bye Bye Singapore

Our family left Singapore for good on 15th September. It was very bittersweet as we were looking forward to settling down as a family again but at the same time, it was sad to bid farewell to all our new friends and to such a fun city to be in..
I hope babah and mama will take us there again in the near future... Especially for Raiyan's sake! He needs to go to the zoo at least once a year!

Peace and quiet at last!

Every time our family goes out in Singapore, there is always so much noise and crowds and crowds of people so Alisha and me were pleasantly surprised when babah and mama took us to to a park called Chinese Gardens where there were wide open spaces for us to run around and hardly anyone around!

It was also during the time of the lantern festival and its theme was sea animals! So I saw quite a lot of gigantic paper animals around..

After walking around, we sat down to have a small picnic and enjoy our packed food. I enjoyed my strawberries and animal biscuits amidst the fresh air and peacefulness...

Farewell Dinner at Megan's

Megan's parents and all their friends threw babah a farewell dinner do a few days before we left, so our family followed uncle William in his car to Megan's tangerine apartment somewhere quite far from where we stay. (To be honest, I thought we were going to the zoo at first as I have been hinting at babah and mama that day about going, by laying down the Singapore Zoo map everywhere for them to see..And then I was more convinced when just upon leaving uncle William gave me a "Friends of the Zoo" car sticker which I hold close to me til this day).
But alas, when I woke up from my short nap in the car, twas not the zoo.. sigh. Nevertheless, Megan's apartment had a reallyfun kiddie pool which I couldn't wait to get into:

I only had a brief dip into the pool as babah forgot to bring my floatie and he wasn't prepared to get into the pool wit me either. It was quite cold as well and I'm sure babah and mama thought it's not advisable since I was still having the slight sniffles..

I did play at the playground for a while and had fun there:

Once it got dark, the children then moved in to the function room to play with all the toys set up my Megan's parents. Here I am in the tent with Clement:

There were quite a number of children around so you can imagine how we drove our parents crazy with all our shoutings, wailings and cryings. I, on the other hand, turned into my good boy self and played quitely and not get into quarrels with the younger babies. Mama said that a few aunties were saying how quiet I was. Yes, mama was quite surprised to hear that but of course happy, even though it's not the case when we are at home!

Got the sniffles again

I have the sniffles and the slight cough again. It seems that we are ping pong-ing it to each other within the family again. (Although for me, I think it's also to do with swimming a bit too late in the day.. hey but it was worth it!)

I don't mind my runny nose and the occasional cough so much (at least my body is not warm) but what I do HATE is that yellow thing you see above. If you don't know what it is, it's a sucking tube that is inserted into my nose holes to suck out whatever goo is in there. But it's so uncomfortable and annoying!

So if you see this look on my face, it's either I see my parents approaching me with it in their hands or I have just gone through the traumatic deal of having it stuffed up my nose! uwaaa...

Ps. Can't complain about the rosy cheeks I have when I'm not feeling well though.. hehe

Helloo.. Babah..!

I think it's probably due to watching mama talk on the phone to babah so many times this year that now I think anything that is remotely the size and shape of a phone is something that I can use to talk to my babah also... hehee

My first sob watching TV

I was watching a documentary on monkeys on my newly discovered favourite channel, Discovery WILD when all of a sudden, during a scene where Bobo the Monkey was being ostracised from his family and clan, I started to cry..

I think it was because of the music and the sad look on Bobo's face, but I just couldn't help feeling so sad and shedding some tears after that:

I don't know why but mama was kinda giggling at me in the background.. jahat eh mama ah..

Alisha's eating update

As I have mentioned time and time again, I am incredibly fussy when it comes to eating. However, lately I'm finding my tastebuds are slightly improving and I am curious to try more and more varities of food.

Then recently, I discovered that mama has been using the help of this really good book:

It contains some recipes that I genuinely end up liking, such as the chicken fruit salad, jacket potatoes with a number of suggested toppings and the salmon fish cakes. Not only are these foods yummy for me but they are all made from fresh ingredients so they are all extremely good for me too!

PS: I do still love my fruits and sweets though!

I'm such a sucker for the camera

I can't explain what it is but my face automatically looks like this when a camera is placed before me.. what does this mean? Mama said I'm really vain.. but I just can't help myself!

Raiyan's day in Vivo City

Wow! who would have thought a shopping centre could be so much fun! I usually hate being brought out shopping with babah and mama cos they can really take a loooonnngg time and I am just stuck in my stroller the whole time.. (yes, I am still traumatised from the New York trip back in 2004).

But this place called VivoCity is not like other shopping centres! It has so much to offer for kids.. I remember going earlier this year and there was a really fun kiddie's playground on the top floor along with a wading pool.. even though we didn't go there yesterday, I still managed to have so much fun whilst waiting for babah, mama AND nenek shopping.. first I went on the kiddie rides on the basement floor..

Then I was brought to Page One bookstore which had a really cosy nook for children at the children's book section. It was so properly organised that they had two rows of shelves exclusively for books on animals! Needless to say, I spent almost an hour perched on my stool browsing through wild aniumals, zoo animals, pets and farm animals...

Lastly, babah brought me to the pet safari store where I saw the cutest puppies, rabbits and hamsters! If I understand babah and mama correctly, I overheard them saying I can have a mini lop bunny when we get back home for good.. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Nenek's visit

Nenek has been here with us for 3 days now and it's really nice to have her around. She plays with us and takes care of us and we just love having her here...

We are just dreading the moment she has to leave... Hope that wouldn't be for a while...

We are finally in Singapore!

Yay! The long stretch is finally over! Alhamdulillah, we arrived in Singapore to join babah for his last month in the Lion City on 17th August.

It didn't take us that long before babah and mama brought us to the zoo! Yay!! How I have been waiting for that for sooo long! This is my THIRD time to the zoo this year and it feels more and more like home now! All the animals in the zoo just feel like family to me now! Babah and me took a picture with the orangutans and I just had this urge to salam their hands and said thank you but they inda layan :( I dunno why! I was just being polite...

I had so much fun at the zoo too, though it did get a bit hot and humid at times. But I got the chance to cool down at the Children's World part where they had this really cool wading pool for me to soak in.

Aaahhh, but above anything else, we are so happy to be reunited with our babah sayang again!

Dancing.. is one of the many things I love to do..

Hi babah sayang! I'm sure you know by now how much I just love song and dance. And it's even more so now that I've discovered Elmo's Favourites Songs VCD which mama routinely switches on for me every night. I love it! As soon as they start singing I just HAVE to get up and start flapping my arms up and down! My personal faves are "I've been working on the railroad" and "BaaBaa Black sheep"!

I'll be doing my thing... until abang can't help himself and hugs me like crazy cos I must look so irresistably cute when I do my dance.. hmph, kacau eh..

Can't wait to see you soon babah! Love you!

Almost there... skali inda tia jadi...

Hi babah, I don't know why Alisha is so scared to walk... padahal a few days ago, she already took her first 3 steps ever! We were all so thrilled for her!

BUT since then... nothing, zilch! All she does is stand up for about 5 seconds then sit back down again. I myself can't help getting so excited whenever I see her stand up and I really try to encourage her to make that one pweshes step..look:

And then I bow my head in disappointment when she squats back down again.. sigh:

I hope she will muster up enough confidence soon! Especially before our one month trip to Singapore! Wouldn't it be fun if she can run around with me then!

Will keep you updated babah!Love u!

My Very Own Truck

Hi Babah! Guess what came up Nenek's driveway this late afternoon? This long, bright blue truck and it's got my name on it! Uncle Ahmad then put me in the driver's seat and I got to play with the steering wheel! Wow, I'm only 4 years old and I have my own truck already! Not bad for a businesskid in the making huh?

Thanks nenek!!

Our first photo shoot together!

To celebrate Alisha's 1st Birthday, Mama treated her to a photo shoot (as mama says-"to have an early start on her portfolio, in case she becomes the next Linda Evangelista") and knowing how kiasu I am like babah, I wanted to join in as well.
I vaguely remember going to one myself when I was two years old:

But this time round mama was definitely more prepared. She brought lots of toys and books for Alisha to play with and she also brought her 3 change of clothes! We really enjoyed having our photos taken with Uncle Jerome because with him, he just lets us be ourselves whilst he just snaps away from a distance.. that way our pictures look more natural and not posed. Mama should know by now if she expects us to pose for the camera, it will take her hours to get that one perfect shot..and basically, we babies just don't like to be told what to do..

Hi Babah! I'm still speechless after seeing how pwetty I am! Heehee...

Alisha's 1st Mini B'day Do

Hi Babah, today we had a small mini party for Baby Lish.. it wasn't really a party if you compare it with my gigantic bash in 2004 but you away along with nenek laki, nenek bini and uda away on umrah, plus mama spent a bomb on Alisha's photoshoot, we thought a cake with some food will do.... And honestly, how much of it does Alisha understand anyway?

Hi babah! I was wondering what mama, auntie wenwen and usu kelly were fussing about this afternoon, rupanya it was for my birthday! It was so much fun! We had a barrel of fried chicken from KFC, a jumbo margherita pizza from Frattini's Piccolo and a monte carlo Minnie Mouse cake from Le Apple!

Abang Raiyan's lady friend Auntie Mellie also came and she gave me presents which were a pwetty summer dress (for me to go to Palawan Beach next) and 2 books cos she wants me to be smart along with being pwetty! Thanks Auntie Mellie!!

After my 10 minute mini birthday party, I was a happy bunny and went straight to sleep!

Can't wait to celebrate my b'day again when you come back next week babah! Love you!

PS: Thanks so much for the party mama, auntie wen wen, usu kelly and abang!!! Love you all!
